Pasadena

Pasadena, Galena Park and Deer Park are all small incorporated cities running along the Houston Ship Channel, Buffalo Bayou, from just outside the 610 Loop to Beltway 8 on the south side of Houston. The Pasadena is the second largest city in Harris County and Galena Park and Deer Park are somewhat smaller. The Pasadena Real estate market is stable and well developed. The Galena Park Real estate market and the Deer Park Real estate markets benefit from the tax revenues from all the refineries and chemical companies in their areas and have some of the best paid school teachers in the State of Texas. Pasadena's population is approximately 155,000 and the city boasts the largest all volunteer municipal fire department in the United States. Like Galena Park and Deer Park the neighboring cities, the economy is closely linked to the nearby Houston Ship Channel and its related industrial districts as well as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's LBJ Space Center in Clear Lake City. Pasadena homes number about 55,000 units with scaled numbers for both Galena Park homes and Deer Park homes. The housing market has held its value well over the years because of the low tax base and good school systems with high pay for qualified teachers in the Deer Park Independent School District. The Pasadena Independent School District serves most of Pasadena.
