Kingwood

Kingwood is another master-planned community developed by the Friendswood Development Corporation and is located in the northeastern section of Houston. It is the largest of the master-planned communities in Harris County and is known as the "Livable Forest" on and around Lake Houston. It is a 14,000 acre development and its name, Kingwood, is derived from the famous King Ranch, which at one point owned the land. Kingwood is divided into 25 villages or neighborhoods most of which have a neighborhood pool and other village specific services. Trailwood is the oldest subdivision or village and new Kingwood homes are still being constructed in Barrington, Kingwood Greens, Kings River, Kings Point and Royal Shores. In addition, several other subdivisions and developments have been established around the area and offer a variety of Kingwood homes to shop. Police, fire and ambulance services are provided by the City of Houston.
