Mean home prices fell $6100 compared to July. The $208,800 average was also 5 percent lower than August 2008. Median home prices dropped $1200 from July, which was a drop from June. Unfortunately, this is the one positive note for the months, because median prices were up 1 percent from last year’s August median price.
