Houston’s August market posts the lowest numbers of the summer

Houston home sales continue to climb, but down from 2008

July 2009 home sales in Houston are the highest numbers we’ve seen since August 2008.  July 2009 has 6393 home sales.  This is less than seen in July 2008, when 6718 homes were sold or in July 2007, when 7551 homes were sold.  These are 5 and 15 percent drops, respectively.

Little relief for June 2009 Houston real estate market

Houston saw 5,987 home sales in June 2009, which is a 14 percent loss from June 2008’s 6,981 and a 25 percent drop from June 2007’s 7,947. Number of Houston Home Sales Down 23% From Last Year

There were 5,246 homes sold in Houston during May 2009.  This is the lowest number of May sales since May 2000’s 5,215, and it is barely above that.  May 2008 had 6,781 sales.  May 2009 had a 23 percent drop from last year, and a 34 percent drop from 2007’s 7,925 sales.

Houston had 4751 home sales in March 2009.  This is almost 1000 more than February; however, but it is in the bottom 1/6th for sales months in the time period shown.  It was also far under March 2008 and March 2007 sales.  March 2009 was 18.3 percent under its 2008 counterpart, and 29.9 percent below [...]

Houston experienced another double-digit drop in one year home sales in December 2008. This was the sixteenth consecutive month experiencing a drop from its counterpart one year prior, and the tenth consecutive month with a double-digit decrease.
